Woman of the Year -
Joyce Martin

The Collin County Charter Chapter of American Business Women's Association has named Joyce Martin as its 2007 Woman of the Year.

Joyce has been an active member of ABWA since 1992 and served two terms as chapter President and one term as chapter Vice-President. Currently she is a member of the Program Committee and Hospitality Committee, but over the years has served as chair of the Publicity, Education, and Program Committees.

Joyce was a flight attendant for Braniff International Airlines for 15 years, worked in banking, and is also a licensed real estate salesperson in Texas. As the Master Architectural Review Committee Compliance Coordinator for Stonebridge Ranch Community Association in McKinney, she began her career with CMA in 1999.

Congratulations to Joyce for this honor!

Annual Merit Award -
Suzanne Pickard

Each year, the Collin County Charter Chapter of the American Business Women's Association chooses one member to commend and honor for her outstanding contribution while also upholding the views and standards of the chapter.  This year the Chapter is extremely, happy, excited, overjoyed and proud to present the first ever two consecutive year winner, our new President, Suzanne Pickard.

No one needs anyone to tell them why Suzanne was once again the winner of this prestigious award.  Everyone knows it’s because of her never ending support of the Chapter, it’s activities, and most of all it’s members.  Can anyone think of ONE chapter meeting or event that Suzanne has not been present?  Not only was she present, but she was probably a major contributor.

Suzanne was just one of the members responsible for the overwhelming success of our Spring Fling this past year.  She produced the entire program (handout), coordinated with SteinMart and made sure that the models were where they were supposed to be WHEN they were supposed to be there.  What made her efforts extraordinary is that she wasn’t even on the Fundraising Committee.

For the past three years, Suzanne has been the very successful editor of our Chapter newsletter, the Chapter Chatter.  Because of the implementation of her ads in that newsletter the Chapter collected over $1,300 last year.

And then we all know how much Suzanne just cares about everyone.  Suzanne has to be one of the nicest people known.  She's not the phony nice.  Not the kind of “I’ll be nice so I get what I want” nice.  Suzanne is just genuinely good.  She has the biggest heart in the world, and the patience of a Saint.  Her sense of humor is wild and wonderful, and everyone she befriends is just incredibly blessed.

Congratulations Suzanne on this honor as we applaud you for yet another year of outstanding contribution and effort.
